"...was a tanner as well as farmer, and probably the first to make leather in the county. He was chosen to an office at the first town-meeting of Hebron, and during his life was prominent in local affairs."

Gideon Bearce Jr. and Lucy Bucknam were married before 1790 in Hebron, Maine (Oxford). Lucy Bucknam, daughter of Daniel Bucknam and Rebecca Boyden, was born in 1777 in Hebron, Maine (Oxford). She lived in Hebron, Maine (Oxford) in August 1850. Living with her son J. Appleton Bearce. (Josiah) She died on 20 December 1851 at the age of 74 in Hebron, Maine (Oxford).
