Lived at 1105 Kellogg Ave., Janesville at the time of his death. Their wedding announcement says the young couple left for their new home in Riverside, Illinois. Apparently they didn't stay there very long. By Dec 1920, when Helen was born, George and Catherine were living with her parents. The 1921 Janesville Directory lists addresses for both families as 102 Forest Park Blvd. By the time of the 1923 Walworth Directory, George, Catherine and their daughter, Helen, had moved in with George's parents on Fifth Ave. in Walworth. And by 1925 the young family a home of their own at 1244 Ruger Ave in Janesville. When the twins were born in 1933, the now much larger family moved into Catherine's parents home at 102 Forest Park Blvd. and her parents moved to 1114 Ruger Ave which was very close by. (Some of this moving about came as a surprise to Helen, who never knew she had lived in Walworth.) George David Porter and Catherine Berniece Jones were married on 6 September 1919 in Janesville, Wisconsin (Rock). Catherine Berniece Jones was born on 24 November 1893 in Emerald Grove, Wisconsin (Rock). She died on 17 September 1951 at the age of 57 in Janesville, Wisconsin (Rock). She was buried on 19 September 1951 in Janesville, Wisconsin (Rock). Catherine was a Stenographer. Graduated Janesville H.S. 1912. Taught typing to the blind.
