3692. Anthony Emery was born in 1600 in Romsey, Hants, England.273,383 He was christened on 29 August 1601 in Romsey, Hampshire, England. He was baptized on 29 August 1601 in Romsey, Hampshire, England. Anthony died on 30 March 1680 at the age of 80. He died in 1694 at the age of 94 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island (Newport).382 He was a Carpenter. He came in the ship the James to Boston from South Hampton in June 1635. Went to Dover, NH about 1644 and after 1648 was in Kittery, ME. He was a ferryman, an innkeeper, became a freeman in 1652, was a constable in 1668 and an elected representative in 1680. He was in constant trouble over Quakers and had moved to the more liberal Rhode Island by Sep of 1660 after selling his property to his son James.

Bay Colony Nov 16, 1652.In1656 he was fined 5 pounds for "mutinous courage in questioning the court"; in 1660 fined again and also disenfranchised for "entertaining Quakers".
