"Indian Dore" was reserved on the subject of his Indian family, and would enter into no conversation about it. He would often be heard singing the song he was singing when the Indians captured him."

"He is said to have settled near his brother John in Lebanon and married Dorothy Varnum (probably Farnhum). They had no children but he may have been the Johnathan Dore who later adopted either John Dixon or Johnathan Rankin."
