"The will of George Bears dated 20 July 1853, left property to his surviving children; all signed off in Dec. 1853 for one pound to their mother (see above deed. George Bearce and Sarah Anora Nickerson were married on 1 December 1802 in Guysborough, Nova Scotia. Sarah Anora Nickerson, daughter of Caleb Nickerson and Lucy Smith, was born on 17 March 1787 in Barrington, Shelburne, Nova Scotia, Canada. She died in 1876 at the age of 89 in Hazel Hill, Nova Scotia, Cananda. She was 1/64 Wampanoag/Narragansett Indian from father. I have 14 children for george and Sarah: Hetty, Calen Nickerson, George James, Catherine, Elizabeth Sarah, Richard, Lucy Mary, Esther Mehitable, Mary, Mercy Ann, Margaret Jane, June Mary, Thankful, Sophia Jane.

"There was a controversy as to the name of Sarah's husband, (see Vol.3:310), but family records and deeds correct this from Benjamin to George. A deed registered 22 Dec. 1853 between the heirs of George Bears and Sarah, widow of George Bears names eight children who "sold five lots of land lying in one body being on the Northwest side of Milford Haven River......purchased by the late George Bears......26 Dec 1815.......sold for one pound to Sarah Bears, widow of the late George Bears." The signers were Caleb Bears, George Bears, Richard Ross, Catharine Ross his wife; Eliza Ross, the wife of the late John Ross: James Cousins, and Mercy Cousins his wife; David Bears, and Mary Bears, his wife, Joseph Bears, and Margaret Bears his wife; William McKenzie, and Sophia McKenzie, his wife.
