In 1846, Calvin Hamlin, a great grandson, of China, Maine, wrote: my great grandfather was named Zaccheus Hamlin, my grandfather and father were both named Timothy; my great grandfather and his two sons, (probably Solomon and Josiah,) were lost at sea about 1770. Mr. Hamblin Dickey, another descendant, of Monroe, Maine, wrote about the same time to the same effect; also, that the children of Zaccheus were b. in Barnstable; and that Joanna and Sarah never m. No record of this family found on Barnstable town records. Ch. b. Barnstable: PRISCILLA; m. Chadwick, of Nantucket. Zaccheus Hamlin and Mary Lombard were married on 29 June 1736.
