213. Josiah Bearce 2nd was born on 3 February 1721 in Litchfield, Connecticut (Litchfield). He died on 28 January 1787 at the age of 65 in New Milford, Connecticut (Litchfield). He was 11/16 Wampanoag/Narragansett Indian from 6/32 father, 16/32 from mother. "Josiah Bearss 2nd, son of Josiah Bearce 1st and Mary Sissell, was born at Barnstable Cape Cod 1721,and was 13/16ths Wampanoag Indian, and only 3/16ths white blood. Married by a Moravian Brother at Pauchtagauch Mission Connecticut, June 1747 his wife, Rebecca Baldwin 3/4 blood Schagticoke Indian"

Josiah Bearce 2nd and Rebecca Baldwin were married in June 1747 in Pauchtagauch Mission, Connecticut. 1754 per Franklyn/Gene Pool Rebecca Baldwin, daughter of John "Nauasee" Baldwin and Mercy Caroline (Mary Che Mi Mi Ko) Waraumaug, was born in 1723 in New Fairfield, Connecticut (Fairfield). She was 3/4 Schagticoke Indian. "Rebecca Baldwin 3/4 blood Schagticoke Indian, born at Shecome Co., near the meeting of the waters New York 1723. She was 2 years younger than Josiah 2nd. She lies sleeping at Pauchtagauch Mission Moravian Grounds Connecticut."

" Rebecca Baldwin's mother was Mercy Caroline daughter of a Wereamaug Sachem at New Milford Connecticut. Mercy Caroline was a sister of CHERE."

"Rebecca Baldwin was educated at the Moravian Mission at Pauchgatagauch, by the Moravian Brothers. She was famous for her knowledge of Indian Medicine, as was her mother Mercy Caroline, daughter of Wereamaug. Rebecca Baldwin stood 6'-2 1/2" in her moccasins, and was a powerful built woman, big rawboned, dominant, proud and haughty. Her husband, Josiah Bearce 2nd, had acquired much book knowledge, and could read and write from his stepmother Zerviah Newcomb, and proud courageous Rebecca, after her marriage to Josiah Bearce 2nd, decided to also acquire some book learning which she did from the Moravians. "
