The 1881 Atlas for Washington Co., ME shows Connick Road, Cooper as a private road running northwesterly from Rte. 191 for about 1/2 mile. In the 1861 map, George W. Black was occupying the property there. The 1881 Atlas shows S. Connick as the resident, confirmed by the 1880 census showing Samuel & Harriet E. and 3 children. Also living with them was Eliza Davis, a 70 yr old deaf and dumb pauper. The name Connick appears in no other census record between 1820 and 1910. At Evergreen Cemetery (corner of the "county road" and the North Union Road), are buried 5 Connick's: Harriet E. Hayward-31465 and Samuel A. Connick-31555 had the following children:
