2675. Harriet E. Hayward was born on 22 November 1849 in Cooper, Maine (Washington). Age 1 at 1850 census. She lived in Cooper, Maine (Washington) on 8 August 1850. She lived in Cooper, Maine (Washington) on 14 June 1860. Harriet lived in Cooper, Maine (Washington) on 1 July 1870. Still living with parents. She lived in Dennysville, Maine (Washington) on 24 June 1900. She died after 24 June 1900 at the age of 50. Harriet was 1/256 Wampanoag/Narragansett Indian from mother. Harriet's middle initial "E." comes from the 1880 census.

Harriet E. Hayward and Samuel A. Connick were married in Washington, Maine (Knox). Samuel A. Connick, son of Levi Connick and Martha J. (MNU) Connick, was born in 1850 in Meddybemps, Maine (Washington). Age 20 in 1870. He lived in Alexander, Maine (Washington) in 1870. The 1881 Atlas for Washington Co., ME shows Connick Road, Cooper as a private road running northwesterly from Rte. 191 for about 1/2 mile. In the 1861 map, George W. Black was occupying the property there. The 1881 Atlas shows S. Connick as the resident, confirmed by the 1880 census showing Samuel & Harriet E. and 3 children. Also living with them was Eliza Davis, a 70 yr old deaf and dumb pauper. The name Connick appears in no other census record between 1820 and 1910.

At Evergreen Cemetery (corner of the "county road" and the North Union Road), are buried 5 Connick's:
Levi S. (1809-1891), Martha J. (1828-1916) wife, Elizabeth (1848-1903) wife, and Herman (1892-1899) son.
